Happy Halloween!

I love Halloween and especially love it even more now that we have kids. Tim on the other hand hasn't really loved Halloween until now. I guess having his daughter's birthday on Halloween has forced him to like it. This year like most other years, Tim dressed up as Clark Kent. I dressed up as a witch. We unfortunately didn't take any pictures of us. We did however remember to take pictures of our kids. Here is our little witch and black cat.

We first stopped by my parents so they could see the kids in their costumes. Once we got home Tim took Addison out trick or treating while Drew and I stayed home and handed out candy. Addison had so much fun trick or treating with Abby, Elly and Ally.

Addison will make a cute little witch laugh but will not say "trick or treat". A week before Halloween we tried to teach Addison to say "trick or treat". One night at the dinner table we were telling her to say "trick or treat". Addison kept saying "Treat" like we were asking her a question. Finally we said no say "both". Addison quickly replied, "Both". It was Hilarious, Tim and I immediately started laughing. Tim and I found this so funny is because she loves using the word both. If she ever has two of something she will quickly tell us she has both. So from that point on when we told Addison to say "treat or treat" she would say "both" because she thought she was so funny.

Make A Wish

Addison had a great birthday. She loved it when we sang Happy Birthday to her. Everytime we said Happy Birthday to You, she would point to herself. Once it was all over and she blew out her candles she would say,"Again".

I can't believe that today our little sweetheart turns two. Addison has really started to grow up and we feel that our little baby isn't so little anymore. Especially since Drew's birth, Addison has now become our "big girl" and "mommy's helper". Addison has been such a good daughter, that we feel like she has made parenthood almost too easy at times. The past two years have been wonderful, and we are so grateful for her sweet, fun loving personality, and for all the joy that she has brought to our family.

A Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

On Monday we went to this fun little Pumpkin Patch in South Jordan. We went to this same pumpkin patch last year. This year was more fun now that Addison is older and able to help us pick out some great pumpkins. It was so cute, she loved helping us try to find the perfect pumpkins.

After we found our pumpkins we couldn't leave until Addie sat on all the tractors. She had so much fun sitting on them and pretending to drive. It was pretty hard to get her to want to get off of them.

And just in case you were wondering what Drew was doing during all of this, here is a picture of her. She slept the entire trip!

2 Months

It seems crazy Drew is already 2 months old. Drew is such a sweet and good natured baby. We feel so blessed to have her as part of our family.

Here are a few things about Drew:

*She has been sleeping through the night for about two weeks.
*She has started to smile.
*She loves to sleep and have her diaper changed.
*Her favorite food is milk

Next week I have Drew's 2 month and Addison's 2 yr doctor's appointments I will post stats then.

Just Like Mommy

Now that Drew is here, Addison has really taken the roll of being a little mother to her baby dolls more seriously.

Addison likes to get out the wipes and diapers for her baby dolls. She also loves to put her cabbage patch doll in Drew's car seat and buckle her in. She will hold her baby doll and rock her to sleep while saying, "Shhhh, Shhhh" And lastly, my favorite thing she has learned by watching mommy (sarcastically speaking) is . . . feeding her baby. Yes that is right, Addison loves to feed her baby. The first time she did this I was out running errands. I came home and Tim said, "Guess what I saw Addison do today?" I had no idea so he proceeded to tell me that Addison climbed up onto the couch, grabbed the boppy, lifted up her shirt, put the her baby up to eat, while making this sucking noise. At first I didn't know if I should laugh or be embarrassed. Later that day without saying anything to Addison about it she climbed up to feed her baby. It was quite comical. Since then she has done this several times so I decided to take a picture.

Finally

Yes that is right, Finally a new post. I have been neglecting my blog lately, but it doesn't help that our internet had been down for over a week. We are now up and running so I wanted to post a little update.

It is hard to believe that it is already the middle of October, and even harder to believe that our little Drew is 7 weeks old. It's crazy to think that we now have two sweet little girls and are now a family of four. I feel so blessed, Drew has been the best little baby. She mostly just sleeps all day and wakes up to eat and to have her diaper changed. She has been sleeping anywhere from 4-6 hours a night. Last night she slept from 9:30-4 and then from 4-9. (I really think I can get used to that schedule :) Addison started sleeping through the night at 2 months, so I am trying not to have such big expectations this time, since I know that isn't the norm. Addison still adores her little sister, and is such a big helper.

Drew definitely has some chubby checks. We can't remember how big Addison's checks were compared to Drew's, but we know they were chubby as well. We will have to post some pictures to compare the two of them.

I know I have already said this, but really I can't believe how fast time flies. We are loving have two kids, it really is so much fun. We are adjusting really well with the new addition. I think the hardest part was just knowing it was going to take me a little longer to get everyone ready and out the door. Also having to go places with two by myself. We have definitely been enjoying getting out and have tried to take advantage since the cold weather is soon approaching us.

Our Sweet Little Addison

Tim and I just love our sweet little Addison so much. She is getting to be such a big independent girl. She is definitely starting to develop her own personality. We can't help but smile and laugh at all the cute things she does. I wanted to write down a list of all the things she is doing right now.

* She loves to dance, well actually listen to music. Everyday she will say, "Dance" which means to turn on the On Demand videos from Comcast. Some of her favorites right now are Jordan Sparks, Chris Brown, and Leona Lewis.

* Everything has to belong to someone. Addison will always point to everything in our house and say "Mom's" or "Dad's". I opened the pantry the other day and Addison saw the vacuum and pointed and said "Dad's". I started to laugh. Anything she sees us use is then labeled by Addison as Mom's or Dad's, which means she only has seen Tim vacuum. :)

*She also loves to cuddle with her Mom and Dad. She likes to lay in the middle of us and put her arms under our heads. Once we are all together, she will say, "both." Whenever Addison has two of something, she always says, "Both".


* Addison also loves having her toes painted. Whenever she see that the nail polish is coming off of her toes, she will point to them and let me know she needs them painted. She is so funny. It's the only time that she will sit still for me. After I put the first coat on she will say, "Cute!"

* Addison loves to draw and color.


* She loves to play with her baby dolls. She has now started to wrap her babies up like I wrap up Drew.

*Addison loves her "snacks". That is what she calls fruit snacks.

* She loves her baby sister Drew. She always has to go into her room to check on her. The other day I told her that once Drew woke up we could go somewhere. Addison immediately took off for Drew's room. She climbed up and then I heard her say to Drew (several times) , "Get up!" It was hilarious.

*Addison also loves to put Drew's binky in. I often have to remind her that Drew doesn't need her binky in if she's sleeping.

*Addison loves giving Drew kisses. She also loves getting in Drew's face and saying over and over, "Hi Drew, Hi Drew". Before that, she used to say, "OOhhh baby." She has now also started to say, " Hi Sis!". It's so cute when she says it.

* Here is my favorite. She loves helping me change Drew's diaper. She has to hand me the wipes and she even now has started to think that she needs to wipe her for me. What a good little helper I have!

* When ever the AC turns on, Addison will run over and stand on the vent and say, "Whoa, that's cold." She sometimes even makes Tim or me stand on the vent too, it is very comical.

* She loves to copy or mimic her dad. Besides always having to help her dad with whatever task he is doing, she also has to copy him too. When Tim stretches before he goes out to play sports, she will try and do the same stretches. If Tim or I are brushing our teeth then Addison has to brush her teeth.

Well that's what Addison is doing these days. She really cracks us up, she is such a big helper and a good big sister. We love her so much and can't wait to see what she does next.

We're Home

First I just wanted to say thanks so much for all the phone calls, comments, visitors, and text messages. It is so nice to have such wonderful family and so many caring friends. We appreciate your love and support at this exciting time for us.

Drew and I were able to come home Saturday afternoon from the hospital. With Addison we had to stay an extra day at the hospital because of her jaundice. We were hoping that Drew would be okay, but the pediatrician told us that we would need to come back on Sunday to have her bilirubin level tested. That Sunday the pediatrician called and told us that her level had increased and that we would need to put her under the lights. The good news is we were able to put her under the lights at home. We've kept her in the bed as much as possible these past few days and today after her tests, the pediatrician said that we didn't' need to keep her under the lights anymore, which made us really happy.

Addison absolutely LOVES her little sister and has been such a big helper. If I say I need to change Drew's diaper, she will always run and grab a diaper for me. She loves to hold her and has to give her a kiss each night before she goes to bed.

We sure love our sweet baby girl and are so happy she is here. Addison has been such a great big sis and has adjusted really well to everything. I'm feeling great and doing well, I think it has to do with the fact that Tim has been able to stay home this week with me. Tim is such a great dad and husband and I am so thankful for all he does for us.
