18 Months

Wow is it really true that our sweet little girl is now 18 months. Like most of you, it seems like our little ones grow up way too fast. Tim and I are always saying how everyday it seems like Addison is getting bigger and bigger.

Here are some things about Addison

At her 18th month appointment she was 30 1/4 inches (30th percentile) and 22.7 pounds (25 percentile).

She loves to help us make our bed. She will had us our decorative pillows one by one to put on the bed.

She loves animals, especially kittys and dogs. She can tell you what a cow, dog, kitty, sheep, rooster, snake, chicken, horse, duck, monkey and pig all say.

She has moved on from her brown boots and now only wants to wear white shoes with pink flowers on them.

She loves giving kisses.

Some of her favorite foods are tomatoes, carrots, eggs, dill pickles, apples, strawberries, and mandarin oranges.

She loves books.

She loves going outside, she will bring me my shoes to put them on and after I put them on she will grab my finger and pull me to the door.

She loves going down the slides at the park, but isn't a fan of the swings.

She loves to go and get the mail. She will open the mailbox, say "ohhhhh!" if there's mail, and then she has to carry all the mail inside for us.

She loves to do the actions to the Itsy Bitsy Spider.

She loves her blankie and she calls it her "B".

She is still scared of the vacuum, every time Tim gets out the vacuum Addison will get a really uncomfortable look on her face.

She loves to play basketball. Every time she sees a basketball, golf ball, baseball she will point and say, "ball." (Her Dad has taught her well.)

She's becoming very particular about certain things. For example, at the grocery store, she will push Tim's hands away and only want me to push her in the grocery cart. She will even change her mind a time or two while we are shopping on who she wants pushing the cart.

Tim and I love watching Addison grow and learn new things.

Hubby Tag

I was tagged a month ago and I thought that it was about time that I did this so here it goes.

What is his name? Timothy Ben Shirley

How long have you been married? 6 years this October

How long did you date? A little over a year.

Who said I love you first? Tim did, It took me a little longer to say it back.

Who is taller? Tim of course

Who can sing better? Tim definitely can sing better than me. Singing is one talent I wish I had. I do however like to sing in the car.

Who is smarter? This is a hard one, I will let you decide.

Who does the laundry? Tim actual starts the laundry, we both will fold it, and Tim will iron all his clothes. (Fine by me :)

Who pays the bills? I pay all the bills.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Tim sleeps on the right side of the bed.

Who mows the lawn? Tim mows the lawn.

Who cooks dinner? I cook dinner unless we BBQ then Tim does all the BBQing. There are a few things that I say are Tim's special things he makes like, 7 layer dip, cornflake treats, and his famous chicken. Tim does however help me clean up dinner.

Who drives? Tim does most of the driving. I do most of the sleeping when he is driving.

Who is more stubborn? I don't' really think of myself stubborn but when being compared to Tim who is the most unstubborn person then I guess I would have to say I am.

Who kissed who first? Good question, I would say it was pretty much mutual. We were hanging out at my apartment up in Logan, but then again Tim was pretty shy so it was probably me.

Who asked who out first? Interesting, I didn't really realize that I had asked him out first. I had asked him to one of my sorority formals as friends.

Who proposed? Tim did on July 5, it was one of the best days of my life. I was totally surprised, I even remember my friend saying what if you get engaged. Tim and I were going up to Powder Ridge that weekend. I remember telling her, I don't think so.

Who has more siblings? Tim does, he has 2 sisters and 1 brother, I have 2 brothers.

Who wears the pants? Tim wears the pants, I just tell him which pants to wear. HA HA totally kidding. I think we are really good about always making decisions together.

What do you love most about your man? I love his funny sense of humor. I love that he is shy sometimes yet he is totally outgoing. Tim is such wonderful and caring husband, and I love watching him with Addison. He is such a great dad.

Thanks for the tag Miche, It was fun. I am tagging anyone who hasn't done this yet and wants too.

We are having a . . .

Well we aren't really sure exactly what we are having. As you know we had our ultra sound today. The doctor wasn't sure and the most we could get out of him was, " I am leaning towards a girl." He told me to schedule another ultra sound for a gender check at my next appointment. Tim and I thought that it looked like a girl, but what do we know?! The fact that the doctor wants me to have another ultra sound makes us still wonder. As for right now we will just think we are having a girl until we are told otherwise at my next appointment, which is May 7th. The good news is the baby looks healthy and everything is measuring right on. I will say that we are excited to have another ultra sound and we think it will be really cool to see the baby in 3-D when she or he is bigger. We'll post pictures of the ultrasound later.

Say Cheese!!

Tim and I think Addison has a really cute smile, but recently we have found that Addison also has the cheesiest grin ever! Whenever we are taking her picture and ask her to smile, Addison will immediately flash us this big cheesy grin. Tim and I can't help but laugh each time she does this. I forgot that I had taken these pictures last month.

Here is an example of her big cheesy grin.

Addison loves her little Cabbage Patch Doll, named Zoey. I thought these pictures were so sweet.

A little update

First off I just wanted to say thank you for all the wonderful comments, it's so nice to have such wonderful friends. Now for the little update on how my pregnancy has been so far. I know some of you wanted to know if we were going to find out what we are having. OF COURSE . . . I wish I could hold out, but there is no way. I am the type of person that has to know so I can try to be somewhat ready. My doctor lets me find out when I am 18 weeks, so we will be finding out on April 9th, and we can't wait. This pregnancy has been almost the same as when I was pregnant with Addison. I have been feeling great, and I am very lucky to not get sick. I realize I am really fortunate to be feeling so well. Tim will sometimes say he forgets that I'm pregnant. I guess that's good for two reasons, one that he doesn't noticed the extra pounds I'm putting on, and two I guess that means I don't complain to much. Really the only difference that I notice is I don't get tired. Sometimes I am pretty much forcing myself to go to bed. So I guess the next pregnancy update will be it's a Boy or Girl. . . OOhhh we are so excited to find out!!

A visit with Grandma and Grandpa Shirley

Today we were very happy to have Tim's Parents come down for dinner. Addison seemed the most excited as she received a lot of extra attention. Grandma Shirley read books with her and also taught her a new song. It's also nice to see that Addison is getting over her shyness that she used to have. Thanks for coming down, we love you!!

Dinosour Museum

On Friday afternoon Tim and I headed over to the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point. We were hoping that the weather would have been nicer because we would have liked to have gone over to the Farm as well. We have a pass to Thanksgiving Point and we haven't been to the Farm yet, now that Addison is older we think she will really enjoy seeing all the animals. Hopefully next week the weather will be nice so we can go. We had a great time and were so glad that Shandi and Hudson could come with us. I would have to say that Addison's and Hudson's favorite part was digging for bones in the sand at the end.

Happy Easter!!!

First off I just wanted to say that I know I have been slacking on my blog lately. I will give an update later on how everything is going but for now I wanted to post on our fun filled Easter weekend. This Easter was especially fun now that Addison is a bit older. The fun all started Saturday when we headed up to Tim's Parents house. Addison loved the Easter egg hunt. It took her a few minutes to figure out what to do with the eggs, but once she got it down, she seemed to really get into it. Tim and I also had a fun time doing the adult egg hunt that Tim's parents do every year. Here are a few pictures from Saturday.

On Sunday we went to church and Addison wore her new Easter dress. I thought she looked so cute, even though she would only wear her brown boots with her dress. We had bought Addison some new white shoes to wear, but she wanted nothing to do with them. So the brown boots is what she wore with her dress, too funny. The Easter Bunny had also came and left Addison a fun Easter basket and a stuffed bunny.

Sunday afternoon we ended the day at my parents house with my mom's extended side of the family for dinner and another Easter egg hunt. Addison soon became an experienced egg hunter, although we still needed to move some of the eggs for her to find. Once she saw the eggs she would go and pick it up and then put it right into her bag. Of course here are some more pictures we took at my parents house.

We had a wonderful Easter this year. It seems that the holidays just become more and more fun as Addison gets older. We hope everyone had a great Easter.

Bowling Anyone??

Friday Tim and I went bowling with our friends, the Mabeys. Tim and I love to go bowling and haven't been for quite a while. Addison had lots of fun too, not bowling but playing with Abby, Elly and Ally.

Tim in action

Amy and Elly

Chad and Abby

To sum up how we all played we took a picture of our final scores. Here are the scores from the 1st game.

Kim 77 Amy 109 Tim 120 Chad 115 the Girls (Abby & Elly) 99

Well someone has to come in last place and well. . .I guess it had to me. I know I didn't even break a 100. And yes, the cute Mabey girls, Abby and Elly even bet me.

I knew the second game I needed to step it up a bit. I definitely improved, I almost doubled my first score. Here are the final scores from the 2nd game.

Kim 141 Amy 88 Tim 119 Chad 152

Here are a few more pictures from that day.

Addison stealing Ally's treats.

Thanks guys, we had so much fun!!

My Two Sweet Valentines!!

February is flying by and I feel like I haven't blogged all month. I was going to post these pictures last week on Valentine's Day but when Tim and I got home from dinner that night, that's when the flu happened. It's true I, Kim Shirley, got sick. Most of you that know me, know that I rarley get sick. I honestly don't know when the last time was that I felt that awful. My throat killed, I had gone to the doctor hoping that maybe it was strep and the doctor could give me an antibiotic, but the test came back negative. After a long long weekend I finally started to feel better on Monday. I hope everyone had a fun Valentine's Day, and I have to thank my wonderful husband for taking such great care of me.

Our Fun Filled Weekend

Tim's sister, Keri Beth, and her family came down and stayed the weekend with us. We had such a blast hanging out with all of them. Addison especially loved having her cousins around to play with. Saturday we went to the Kangaroo Zoo in Pleasant Grove. If you haven't been there I would definately recommend it. The kids had a blast, except Addison wasn't quite sure what to think. She did however like going down the slide with her dad. Then that evening we went to a local resturant in Lehi called Porter's Place. We were also happy that our friends the Bacons' and the Mabeys' were able to join us. All in all it was a great weekend, there was a lot of Halo and guitar hero also being played that weekend. We were so glad that Keri Beth and Dave decided to head down south instead of going to Bear Lake.

Here are some of the pictures from Kangaroo Zoo.
