What a Silly Girl!

I was looking through my pictures today and came across these great pictures of Addison trying to get a drink out of her sippy cup. Looking back at these pictures I took three weeks ago brought a smile to my face. I was sitting on the couch watching her stand up to the coffee table to try and get a drink. I first noticed that she wouldn't grab the sippy with her hands. She was so determined and persistent in trying to get a drink. It was entertaining watching her, try after try, put her mouth on the sippy, not understanding why she wasn't getting anything to drink. It's funny because Addison does really well with drinking out of our glasses and she can even drink out of a straw, but when it comes to the sippy she just doesn't understand why she would have to grab it and tilt it back. Well. . . it might have something to do with the fact that I usually hold the sippy for her, plus I do admit that I don't give her a sippy cup very often. It was so cute watching her and then seeing her finally realize that she needed to grab the cup. I especially love the second to the last picture, mouth wide open and on her tippy toes.

A Great Baby Shower Game!!

My friend, Gabrielle, made up the cutest baby shower game that we played at Kelly's baby shower. It was such a fun idea that I had to share it with everyone. Plus isn't everyone always up for new ideas, especially for when you are throwing a baby shower?

So here it is...

First you find fun baby pictures like these below. Print out the same number of photos as the number of guests. You will want to find a different photo for each guest.

Once printed out you can crop them and glue them on some cardstock or cute scrapbook paper. Then on the back of the card you put the following:

Photo Caption
(Write down a clever caption for the photo.)

Name
(Write down a name that you think the new mom should use.)

What the name means
(Bring a name book that has the meanings of each name.)

Advice for the new Mommy
(Write down some great advice or tips for the new mom. )

Then have the soon to be Mom read them out loud.

Have Fun!!

Talking to Daddy

Addison and I have a certain routine we do every morning. Since we aren't awake when Tim leaves for work, we have to make a Good Morning call to him each day. I will always put the phone to Addie's ear and Tim will talk to her. Addie gets really excited when she hears her daddy's voice. Addie now loves and insists to hold the phone when she is talking to him. She looks like such a big girl holding the phone to her ear all by herself. Here are a few pictures that I took of her this morning.

As you can see, Addison just loves talking to her daddy!!

What no pants?

I put Addison down for her nap, fully clothed. I come in to get her from her nap, and this is how I find her. Her PJ bottoms totally off and she has them in her mouth. She is so funny. I get the biggest kick out of watching her do the wild things she does.

Our Weekend...

Friday night I went to Al Forno's Italian Restaurant, for a baby shower/going away party for my dear friend Kelly. It was so much fun getting together with old friends. We are all so excited for her to have her first little boy. Although the food was great, the company even better, it was sad to think Kelly will be moving to Boston on Friday. No matter where Kelly is, I know we will always stay in contact and be close friends. I was a little disappointed when I realized that we didn't get a group photo. While I was out with my friends, Tim and Addison had a great time at Amy and Chad's. They played Ticket to Ride. I have to say thanks to Amy and Chad for having Tim and Addison over. Saturday afternoon Tim went golfing at Valley View with his brother, Marlon. Saturday night we went out to dinner to celebrate my mom's birthday. Sunday we ended the weekend by heading up to Tremonton to celebrate Tim's mom's birthday. A weekend is always great when it is spent with wonderful friends and family.

Plastic Cups

The other day I had called Tim while he was driving home. I wanted to see how close he was to our house since we were having dinner with our neighbors at 6:00. He said that he was close, and that he bought me a surprise. Considering where he was at on the road, I thought about it for a few seconds, and then said, "Did you get a Slurpee?" (Tim LOVES Slurpees) He then proceeded to tell me that someone told him 7-11 was selling promotional plastic slurpee cups so he had to go and get one. He wanted me to guess what was on the plastic cup. I had no idea, he said it was coming out soon. So I just was thinking The Office, Grey's. He finally admitted to me that he would be way more excited then I would be. So it hit me, what has Tim been so excited for?. . . Halo 3. Yep, I was right the cup had Halo 3 on it. He also informed me that he was going to drink out of it when he plays Halo. So here is the reason for my post today.

Here is a little collection of our plastic cups. (we actually have 4 more Broncos cups, Tim goes to a game each year and will bring home his lovely cup.) The BYU and Halo 3 are the newest additions. First let me say, Tim is a sucker for what HE would call a collectible plastic cup. Tim is so funny, the little things that he finds joy out of. And yes, this is one of the many reasons why I love Tim. Tim hasn't always been a collector of plastic cups, it kinda just happened. It all started with the Broncos cups. He brought them home and we would . . . still do . . . drink out of them during the games. And you can't leave out the fact that we are also wearing our Broncos parafanailya. (oh yes that will be a future post, so stay tuned ) He breaks out the BYU cup when he is watching the away games, since he now goes to the home games. I am sure he will bring home a new cup from each home game he goes to. But now he has the Halo 3 cup to break out, when the new XBox game comes out. Isn't Tim so great!! You just have to love our husbands and the funny things they do.

A Delicious Dessert!

Tim and I have found the greatest little treat. It is called the Skookie. What is a Skookie you ask? It is a cast iron skillet that you cook a cookie or a brownie in. It cooks in the oven and then you can top it off with ice cream, hot fudge and carmel. It is absolutely delicious. You can buy this great Skookie at Cabela's for $25.00. It comes with two cast iron skillets and your choice of Chocolate Chip cookie mix or Double Fudge Brownie mix. One skillet is big enough for Tim and I to share. It also comes with other recipes, for instance you can make your own pizza's in them. Another plus is it's super easy and fast to make. You should go and pick one up, I promise you won't regret it.

MFN Rowdy Fans!

We were watching Monday Night Football and they have a new segment called MNF Rowdy Fans. You can send in a video showing how much you love and support your favorite NFL team. I thought this video was so dang cute. I love the daughters enthusiasm and love for her favorite NFL team, the Bengals. After I immediately turned to Tim and said, "Oh I can just picture it now, this will be you and Addison in a few years." Click here to watch the video.

Addison Looks more like...

I saw this on Becky's Blog, and I just couldn't resist doing it myself. A lot of people that know us are always surprised at how much Addison looks like Tim. They sometimes say she is an Asian Tim. I guess they are right, she is a pretty good mix. If you haven't tried this, I think you should!

A New Toy For Addison.

For a month now, Addison has been cruising around the coffee table, couches and anything else she can hold on to. So after Addison's morning nap I decide to go and buy her a little walker. I decided to drive to Orem because Babies R Us and Toys R Us are right next to each other. I first go into Babies R US, knowing they probably won't have much of a selection. But I had a coupon for $5 off any purchase over $25. I was right, they didn't have what I was looking for, but no need to worry I still managed to us my coupon. (Sorry Tim) But I have to say I was able to get some great items. For instance, this little Tray for the Bumbo seat. I like to feed Addison cereal in my front room so I can watch a little TV. She will sit in the Bumbo but then she always manages half way through breakfast to get out. Well not anymore. I wished I would have bought this early. Here is a picture of it. If you have the Bumbo I definitely think you should purchase this. It is only $9.99.

After that trip I made my way next door to Toys R Us. Since there are so many fun toys, I started to get a little distracted looking at what I could buy Addison for her Birthday. But I managed to stay focused and picked up the Activity Walker and was on my way home.

Addison is trying to get down the pushing and the walking at the same time. She moves pretty slow right now, but I know she will learn quickly and be crusin' in no time. Here is a picture of Addison with her new walker.

Best Season of All!!!

With it being the beginning of September and the passing of Labor Day weekend, Fall is fast approaching. Fall is our most favorite time of year. I will say that there are many wonderful things about each season. Spring has beautiful tulips, Butterflies, March Madness. Summer you begin grilling on the Barbecue, go swimming, take family vacations. Winter, the beautiful white snow covering the trees, the Christmas music, snuggled up in a warm blanket sipping on a nice cup of hot chocolate. But there is something about fall, a certain feeling that we love so much. Here are our top 10 reasons why we LOVE Fall, in no particular order:

10. Bug season is over, no more mosquito's, flies etc. (No more worrying about West Nile, or not being able to sleep because you are itching your 7 mosquito bites that you got in less than 30 minutes.)

9. Fall Clothes -coats, sweaters, boots, layering. (of course that's my reason, not Tim's)

8. Celebrating our Anniversary and our daughter's birthday. (Tim jokes that October is the new June.)

7. The cooler weather, the air is crisper. (This summer has been way to hot.)

6. Getting together with Family.

5. All the new seasons of our favorite shows start, no more reruns. (Greys, The Office, Heroes, Just to name a few of our many shows we watch, thanks DVR!)

4. Daylight Savings- Everyone loves gaining an extra hour of sleep.

3. The relaxing drive up the canyon with all the beautiful colors of the fall leaves.

2. Halloween, carving pumpkins. Haystacks and pumpkin patches. (Tim will now have to LOVE Halloween since it's his daughters birthday!)

1. Last but not Least, Football season starts. (GO BRONCOS!!)

So there you have it, the reasons why we love fall so much. I do have to tell you one little secret. Tim loves Fall by itself. He did tell me that there is one thing he doesn't like about Fall, and that is. . .Fall is followed by Winter.

Can't get enough of the AF Canyon!

(AF aka American Fork.) Yes, we love driving through American Fork Canyon. Our first trip was on Tuesday, August 28th and since then we have been up there 3 times. I laughed a little when I realized we had been up there 3 times in less than a week. Tim enjoys taking pictures and he has been trying to teach himself some new things with his camera.

Labor Day Morning Tim and the guys (Chad, Jon, and Karter) woke up very early to drive up the canyon to take some pictures. Everyone woke up to the sound of their alarms, except for Jon. He was woken up by the sound of rocks being thrown at his window. Poor Jon, he forgot to set his alarm. And well, they couldn't just leave him, since he was driving and his car was packed with all the stuff to make breakfast. Yes breakfast, our cute Husbands thought it would be fun if the wives and kids came up so we could all have breakfast together in the canyons. It was a fabulous idea, we had so much fun hanging out, talking, and letting the kids explore. And to top it all off the Men even cooked, mostly Chad, Tim did dip the bread. (ha ha, How many men does it take to make french toast?) Totally kidding. You guys are great! Here is a group photo of all of us, you have to love the tripod!
